ALFA ROMEO - 4C - Stage II ECU tune kit

Level up your power game with the GMS Stage II ECU kit for the Alfa Romeo 4C. It features GMS Stage II ECU tune + GMS hybrid turbo. This carefully engineered package is designed to deliver performance without compromising reliability or drivability and it requires no modifications to the engine.

At the heart of this upgrade lies the GMS hybrid turbo, featuring ported OEM compressor housing with Garrett GTX2860 core and oversized 10-blade compressor wheel and ported OEM turbine housing with an oversized 10-blade turbine wheel. The unit is precision balanced and capable of producing up to 2.0 bar of boost on the 1750TBi engine, offering fast spool, strong mid-range torque, and potent top-end power that keeps pulling all the way to redline at 7250 rpm. We also added braided oil feed line and steel water water feed and outlet lines. Oil outlet piece is modified and supplied with the kit as well. Optionally, upgrade diverter valve is available and of course, recommended.

It is not surprising to see that many hybrid turbos on the market, but not one comes with a quality ECU tuning. Why? If turbo is the heart, the ECU mapping is the soul. This is the hardest and the most expensive part of the development. We spent many hours fine tuning the maps to achieve reliable and stable performance. It's not a simple "full send" map, but well thought tune.

This kit delivers acceleration time of 8.4s from 100–200 km/h, delivers peak power 500rpm higher than (6500 rpm vs. 6000 rpm OEM), features revised 7250 rpm hard cut / ignition cut limiter and delivers stable engine performance, beyond what OEM turbo based tunes can achieve. On OEM turbo, any tune beyond cca. +60bhp (cca. 300hp), will suffer from severe heat soak and consequential power loss. While OEM turbo is perfectly sized for OEM level of powers of 240bhp, it's simply too small to deliver more than additional +60bhp over OEM tune (240bhp vs. cca. 300bhp). GMS hybrid turbo on other hand, can easily deliver +90bhp over OEM tune, while it's still operating at its optimal compressor flow chart. The result is max power increase of +90bhp at 6500rpm, 500rpm higher than OEM tune, with the power all the way to the redline at 7250, delivering no dips in torque curve, good drivability and throttle modulation. To prevent excessive stress on driveline components (transmission, clutch), torque is limited to +80Nm (from unrestricted +140Nm) over OEM specs. Boost delivery is smooth and linear, without excessive turbo lag. As you can tell from unrestricted torque numbers, for power figures beyond +90bhp, the GMS hybrid is more than sufficient, but the OEM camshafts become bottleneck and increasing the boost further, beyond 1.7 bar on stock engine, only causes increase in low end torque, drivetrain stress, engine intake temperature heat soak and increases the risk of knocking, without gaining any top end power. The GMS Stage II ECU tune kit, is as far as you can go in terms of power, without opening and modifying OEM engine internals.

Optional upgrades:

  • Clone ECU – a refurbished, pre-flashed ECU shipped directly to you for simple plug-and-play installation. No need to send your ECU in.

  • Upgraded Diverter Valve – highly recommended to replace OEM unit and prevent compressor surge under high boost.
